MI LNG Company, Limited (“MI LNG”) has received an order of one (1) membrane type LNG carrier for the Cameron LNG Export Project promoted by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in the U.S.A.
This LNG carrier has a total tank capacity of 178,000 cubic meters (m3), 296.9m length, 48.7m breadth and 27.0m depth, to which GTT Mark III Flex is adopted as the cargo containment system, and ME-GI main engine having highly efficient Fuel Gas Supply System is also adopted, thus lower fuel oil consumption and operation flexibility are ensured. The vessel will be built, based on our order, by Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (“Imabari Shipbuilding”) Saijo Shipyard (Saijo city), and scheduled to be completed and delivered in 2020.
We, MI LNG will strengthen the close coalition with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and Imabari Shipbuilding, and will stimulate extensively the demand for next-generation LNG carriers which have superior transport capability and economic fuel efficiency and are also environment-friendly. We will focus on keeping advantage in the intensifying market competition, and contribute to the domestic and international LNG transport business field.
